Hercules is reporting on the Variety story that has 'Angel' renewed with James Marsters joining the cast. The article also states that while Buffy actors and writers are expected to make their appearances, Charisma is not expected to return as a regular. So, while I was fairly confident that Spike might show up as part of the November sweeps arc, I still have to admit that I'm surprised at his full-time pickup. But there is a lot of contradictory information going around, most of it coming from comments that James himself has made. For example, he stated that while he would love to go to the show, he would not want to do it at the expense of one of the current actors.

Does this mean that the ending of 'Buffy' does not have Spike dying, but rather vanishing as Kristin has been suggested. Possibly, but my belief is that if redemption is going to happen, it's going to need to come through sacrifice.
