March 26, 2003Angel News
Changing Channels There is not much in the way of Buffy news, so I'm going to take a moment to focus a bit on 'Angel', if only because there could be some implications in regards to Buffy. Information is beginning to surface for Episode 20 of Buffy, I hope that I'll have something by tomorrow. The info here will not have any spoilers, however I'm going to point to an article that may or may not contain spoilers. So click at your own risk. TV Guide and a few other places are reporting on the fact that 'Angel' has yet to be renewed by the WB, much to the dismay of most critics. The good news is that it hasn't been officially let go, the bad news is that it hasn't been officially picked up. One reason I mention this, is that I feel that Angel's future likely will have some impact on any possibility of a Buffy spin-off. Which is why I'm not commenting at the moment about spin-off rumors or possibilities, there are just too many variables. The expected decision on 'Angel' is rumored to come this May, and my hunch is that there is a good reason for the delay. Related to that is an interview with David Greenwalt at Zap2It, about both 'Angel' and 'Miracles' (though I have to admit, I didn't really understand the sudden change in Miracles from a paranormal science fiction show, to a military reality show based in the Middle East, to a courtroom drama based in Boston. Been kind of hard to follow the storylines the past two weeks). Some very interesting, albeit possibly spoilery, comments in the article. Definitely worth a look. Link |
