Ship Ahoy

Not much in the way of news today, although there seems to be quite a bit of ship-related discussions on various boards. I thought I would take a moment to talk about where I think things may be heading.

Although we had a relatively ship-free first half of the season, I don't know if that will continue into the second half. As I've already mentioned, at least one of the SIT's could be a possible love-interest for Willow (and that would be Kennedy). I can say that for the moment, it does seem to be something that will be played around with a bit. As it stands now, Kennedy definitely has taken an interest in Willow. The question is whether or not Willow will be receptive, and I think that at the beginning, she's not that pleased with the attention.

As for Buffy and Spike, or Xander and Anya, I do feel that there will be some kind of closure to their ships during the second half of the season. Neither story has been completely told, and there are many ways that they could go. But, if there is a season Eight, we know that Emma will not be a part of it and neither may Sarah. Which, if we are to believe the other actors who say that they've already been signed, does not bode well for B/S or X/A past this season (unless they're into long distance relationships, then we could have the really lame 'Buffy is MIA' angst which other series seem to thrive on).

And for those who were worried about a possible Buffy/Wood ship, I think Wanda clarified that this was not what she meant by 'heat' in this week's chat (which I should have a link for tomorrow). I seriously doubt that this is a possibility, as I think it might even have more negative fan reaction than Cordy/Connor
