Herc, Marti, Casting News

One Drawback

Something I didn't consider when I started looking into doing a late night recap of the day's news, would be the fact that some things would not be as timely.

Since Herc hadn't posted his review of 'Lessons' until this morning, it means that this is pretty much after the fact. But still fun to read...

The Return Of YAMI

It appears that Marti Noxon is back on the interview circuit, and it's good to have her back. SciFi Wire posted a very interesting interview, with some new information. The two main points are...

- Anya isn't going to be the only one reprising her diva turn in 'Once More With Feeling'. We may soon see the return of the 'Parking Ticket Lady'

- Marti will be handling the writing chores on Episode 10 and 21 (and directing 21 to boot).

The announcement of who would be writing episode 21 raised my eyebrows a bit. It would appear that the writers could be taking the possibility that this might be final season very seriously. Either that, or they really have this season plotted out very far in advance. But if the show were to end, it would make sense that Marti and Joss would be the closers.

The Plot Thickens

I'm saving the best for last.

No, it's not my thoughts on 'Lessons', you'll have to wait until tomorrow for that. But this should more than tide you over until then...

One of my Industry Sources (who completely nailed 'Lessons' weeks in advance) passed along a new casting rumor. Even though I do trust the source, I'm still skeptical as always (especially with Marti making comments in Wanda's interview about trying to leak false spoilers)

Not content with casting only Slayers-In-Training, the call has gone out for Slayers. Yes, that's Slayers 'plural and period'. The info I have indicates that this will be more Slayers than you can count on one hand (and they are looking for a well-rounded, read Non-American, demographic).
Flashback episodes, Rogue Slayers, Vamped Slayers? Your guess is as good as mine, but I think it's a good bet that Season Seven is going to be the 'Season Of The Slayers'
