You Drive Me Crazy

This is another one of those spoilers that just won't die. Thanks to a cleverly edited promo for the Saturn Awards, there is now video floating around the net of Joss stating that 'Britney will be in Buffy' next season. However, the promo is cut just short of the beat and then Joss saying 'Just kidding' (or something to that effect because I haven't actually seen it myself).

To add to my misery, someone has added Britney to the cast list over at IMDB.com. Which means that for the umpteenth time since the site has started, I have to point out that IMDB.com is NOT an accurate source, since all the information posted is gathered by visitor-submission. I could post that Adam Sandler will be the 'Big Bad' for Season Seven, and it would probably show up and stay there for a few weeks until the editors of the database removed it.

I'm still standing by the ranking, Britney Spears will not have a recurring role on BtVS in Season Seven.

Nick's 'Extension'

It seems like it was only last month that Nicholas Brendon was quoted in an interview that Season Seven would be the last. Wait, it was only last month that he was saying that.

In his latest interview, this time for YM magazine, Nicholas states that next season could be the last, but that he's under contract for three more years. Which likely means that ME and Fox have an option for another three years, but it doesn't guarantee that the show will continue for another three years.
