Summer Reruns, Shooting Info, DVD's

Summer Rerun Hell-mouth

Fraz has posted the schedule of episodes through the summer, something which I was going to do today as well. Unfortunately, this could also be the final bit of spoilage I'm going to get from my source who provided so much media/promo information during the first half of this year. I'm hoping that it won't be, but things aren't looking terribly great at this point.

In July, they are running two episodes a week (Tuesday and Wednesday). The Wednesday episodes will air after Enterprise. If the schedule continues with one per week in September, the season premiere will likely be on October 1st.

6/25 - All The Way 7/02 - Once More, With Feeling 7/03 - Life Serial 7/09 - As You Were 7/10 - Tabula Rasa 7/16 - Hell's Bells 7/17 - Smashed 7/23 - Wrecked 7/24 - Doublemeat Palace 7/30 - Gone 8/06 - Dead Things 8/13 - Older And Far Away 8/20 - Normal Again 8/27 - Entropy
Across The Pond

SciFi Wire has a number of articles culled from an interview with Joss Whedon. The most important one confirms what we've suspected, that at least part of the premiere will be filmed on location in England. Although Joss only mentions Alyson and Anthony in the interview, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the others also make the trip.

Winter 2003!!!

I, like most of you, have picked up the Season Two DVD set. BTW, I would like to thank everyone who shopped for their DVD sets (and anything else for that matter) through the Slayer Shop. With the release of the Season Two set, the hosting costs for the second half of the year have been pretty much covered. Thank You.

I've only had time to watch one episode so far (I'm still working through my Ranma 1/2 Season Two Box Set), so I haven't had a chance to listen to any of the commentaries or play around with the other extras. Speaking with a couple of people, we all mentioned the quality of the video. It is definitely grainy, and I think more noticeable than it was in the Season One set. However, it's not unexpected. The first two seasons were shot on 16mm film, which is why it doesn't seem as high-quality as one would expect. Season Three should be much clearer. In either case, it's better than my video archives.

One friend actually called, more concerned about the card inside which refers to Season Three being released in Winter 2003. At first, I presumed that it was a typo. But after a moment I realized that technically, Season One was released in Winter 2002. Though I'm surprised that Fox wouldn't want Season Three on the shelves in time for the Holiday Season, it looks like we'll probably see it about the same time as this year, in mid-January.

Update: I've gotten a few e-mails about this, so I thought I should clarify. Technically, January of 2003 is still considered Winter 2003. Winter officially begins on December 21st, so the majority of the Winter actually occurs at the beginning of a year rather than the end. As I meant it originally, the card is more than likely correct, and Season Three will be available in Winter of 2003, just as Season One was released in Winter of 2002.
