March 28, 2002PM Update - Possible Dates, Effects Spoiler, New Promo
Sure, Make Us Wait Even Longer Partyman posted the following at the Cross and Stake. 30th April - EntropyI have no reason to doubt the source or the info, but I'm not going to make any judgement until I get the information on what's airing on April 16th. Which should be along in a day or so. But it does seem very likely (although probably not the best idea to keep us waiting another week). It's Magic The following post was brought up on the Kitten Board today, but the original appeared there on March 12th. It was posted by Darkholde, and is their only post (spoiler or otherwise) so far. Take this as you may: My best friend, who lives in LA has a husband who does "out of house" computer special effects for various studios. I talked to him today and said he was talking to a colleague of his who said there is an F/X for a scene in BTVS, in which the character Anya does some sort of magic (major F/X scene) that reverses some bad events leading up to this scene. He said it seems to be the character who performs the magic that dies in the end. He obviously did not know much of the details since he and his colleague mostly talked about the technical aspect of this and not the story plot. Believe or not...For the moment, I think this sounds a bit too good to be true. Not only is it one of those 'two or more times removed from the source' posts, but the episodes where this would happen were not yet filmed. That's not to say that footage could have been filmed ahead of time, because of the amount of work. I could certainly see that happening. The only other problem is that if Anya is indeed going to grant a wish, there would be no real need for major special effects (we've never seen that happen in the past). Likewise, no matter what the scenario, she wouldn't die through either wishing or breaking a wish she previously cast. I'm still working under the assumption that, whatever they do decide to do at season's end, it's not going to be anything we are going to expect. Remember the motto, 'It's going to probably be: E - None of the Above'. Mr Video Strikes Again Although it's been a while since I've posted the site, Mr. Video's page has a promo that was released last week for Buffy. It's a generic promo to preview the final episodes of the season I believe. There is a scene with Anya and Buffy that I haven't seen before, but nothing really spoilery (probably from Entropy, when she's trying to get someone to make a wish). The thing I found interesting, is the fact that they are playing up Dawn's mystical origins. I take that back, playing up isn't a strong enough term for what they show in the trailer. For those who don't want to download it, it has both scenes from 'After Life' (the glowing eyes and the flame-breath). The only new footage is the aforementioned Buffy/Anya scene. Link |
