PM Update A new Buffy

PM Update

A new Buffy spoiler site has appeared in the last few days. Although the site lacks originality in terms of concept (the ranking system seems strangely familiar), it more than makes up for it in the spoiler department. Spoilerdale has a number of spoilers that I haven't seen before. The big ones would have to be...

  • Riley comes back as a vampire (perhaps with selective amnesia), and Spike ended up staking him.
  • At the failed Xander/Anya wedding, Spike forces the preacher to marry him and Buffy (who's drunk at the time)
  • Jonathan dies, Andrew runs off, and Warren ends up fighting the Slayer alone
Almost everything else is a mix of things that have already been mentioned elsewhere, although it's not entirely correct. 'Dead Things' is being tagged as the Birthday episode, and the 'mystery meat' in DMP is supposedly human, both of which don't mesh with what I've heard.

At this time, I'm very doubtful about the wedding scenario. Riley returning as a vampire has been a heavy topic of speculation; I agree that it could be a possibility. However, knowing the unpredictable nature of the writers, in addition to the fact that Joss let it slip that he's coming back 'different', makes me skeptical if this is what really happens.

I've also had a few requests to address the rumors floating around about the 'sex scene'. Several of the boards are discussing a scene in 'Dead Things', where Spike and Buffy are supposedly going to have very passionate and very public sex in the Bronze. I've been aware of this discussion, and for the most part haven't felt a need to comment on it. Mainly because they have turned into arguments over what constitutes 'healthy sex' or if 'public sex makes you an evil person'. Unfortunately, much like the argument over whether or not Spike and Buffy are a couple, it's not going to be one that you can win. They are adults, however they choose to express their passion is up to them, I'm not going to be one to judge. Without having seen any portion of the 'physical' relationship outside of the end of 'Smashed', I can only presume from what I'm hearing is that it will become more of an addiction. Everything also points to it coming to a climax (that is a completely unavoidable pun) in 'Dead Things', where I can only speculate that someone will die because Buffy is too busy getting it on with Spike. These are some of the blanks that I'm waiting to be filled in, which should happen once 'Gone' and 'DMP' air.
