Angel decides it's time to get more information on the Senior Partners, and Spike suggests Eve may have the answers. They find her holed up in Lindsey's old apartment, terrified for her life. We discover that a man named 'Hamilton' (played by Adam Baldwin) is after her.

After getting her back safely to Wolfram and Hart, all she can tell them is that they need to talk to Lindsey. Unfortunately, he is nowhere to be found. That's because the Senior Partners have tucked him away in a 'torture dimension', which seems to be anything but torture for Lindsey. He's living the fantasy life with a wife and a child, but what lurks in the basement?

Angel and company take a special car to visit Lindsey, and discover that he has no memory of them. That is, until they remove an amulet from around his neck. As his memories return, we discover that his family are also his guardians, and they attack. Angel discovers that in the basement is a demon, which has been tearing Lindsey's heart out night after night to torment him.

At this point, they are trapped with no way to escape. The only solution is for someone to take Lindsey's place. Gunn steps up and dons the necklace, allowing the others to get away. During this time, back at Wolfram and Hart, Eve and the others are being pursued by Hamilton. Wesley is out with Illyria, where she is learning more about how the world has changed.

Angel and the others pop back into reality in the Wolfram and Hart garages, right as Eve and the rest arrive. Hamilton reveals Eve's fate, he's her replacement and she has to sign her powers (immortality) over to him. Hamilton looks forward to working with Angel and the others

Later, as the remaining members of Angel Investigations realize how bad things have gotten. Lindsey reveals that the Senior Partners intentions were to distract Angel from their true plans, and it appears that they have succeeded. While in the other dimension, Gunn is paying his nightly visit to the demon in the basement.
