ATS: Finale Changes
Once again, PersephoneMoon has had the opportunity to see the final episode of 'Angel' before it hit the airwaves. There is no 'big surprise ending', as many people have written figuring that Joss was keeping something under wraps.
There were a few changes from the original script, but this was all expected as the episode as originally scripted would have run a bit long. She documents these changes in her latest post.

ATS: Summaries For The Final Two
PersephoneMoon, who has come through many times in the past, has delivered once again with extremely detailed spoilers of the final two episodes of 'Angel'. These are not based on reviewer copies, but scripts, and she does feel that some scene may have been trimmed from the episodes.
However, if you want a blow-by-blow summary of what you'll see in the last two episodes, this is it.
' Power Play' (Summary by PersephoneMoon)

Angel: Not Fade Away (5.22)
- While Angel is called away by Hamilton to a meeting of The Circle, the others return to Spike's to find out what happened to Illyria.
- They find Illyria unconscious, Hamilton managed to best her in battle and took Drogyn away (which is how Angel got him in the previous episode).
- The Circle, in order to guarantee Angel's intentions, have him sign a contract that voids his participation in the Shanshu Prophecy (ie: he can never be human).
- Harmony tries to find out Angel's intentions, but he only wants her to keep Hamilton occupied.
- Angel reveals the plans to Lindsey, who agrees to help if he turns Wolfram and Hart over to him after the battle.
- This segues into the many scenes during the day, with Spike reading poetry in a bar, and Gunn meeting up with Anne.
- Illyria offers to make Wes happy by pretending to be Fred, but he asks her not to.
- That night at Spike's, Angel fills in the others on their missions. While at the same time, Harmony fills in Hamilton on the same plans.
- Lorne explains that he will not take part in the final battle, he'll leave after his mission is accomplished.
- Lindsey and Lorne will take out the Sahrvin demons, they do but Lorne kills Lindsey by shooting him.
- Illyria is selected to take out Izzy, which she does with ease.
- Wesley is to take out Cyvus Vail, but Vail gains the upper hand. Illyria arrives and kills Vail, but Wesley is mortally wounded. As he dies, he asks Illyria to pretend to be Fred for him. She does as he passes away.
- Gunn's target is the Senator and her vampires, he manages to defeat them but is seriously wounded in the battle.
- Spike takes out the Fell Brethren and rescues the child given to them in 'Time Bomb'.
- Angel is supposed to take out Sebassis, but right as he is leaving Hamilton arrives. As they are fighting, Harmony denies that she spilled the beans. Angel fires her.
- Hamilton figures he's stopped Angel from killing Sebassis, but Angel poisoned one of his slaves (who's blood he drinks) much earlier. Sebassis is already dead.
- As they fight, Connor appears and helps out. Angel finally gets the upperhand and kills Hamilton.
- As Wolfram and Hart begins to fall apart, Angel tells Connor to get to safety. He also tells Eve that Lindsey won't be coming back.
- The plan was that after their missions were complete, they would meet up in an alley. Spike is waiting for him, and Gunn stumbles into view as well. Illyria arrives and tells them of Wesley's fate.
- As demons close in from either end of the alley, and a dragon circles overhead, the gang heads into battle. Fade to black. « hide more

ATS: Reports Of One Death...
I've gotten a bit more information on 'Not Fade Away', which could indicate a change in the fate of one of the characters. I've gotten a confirm on this, and to be honest, this was one of the things that I had mentioned as a 'significant change' when I first posted the spoilers.
Note: Since the original post, I've reviewed all the information yet again, and have modified my summary of events.

So here's the lowdown...
First, Wesley and Lindsay are still slated to die in this episode. There has been no change to that. The death in question is Gunn's, and it's always been a bit murky as to his exact fate.
During the battle, Gunn does manage to accomplish his task, but is badly wounded. In the first draft, he would make his way back to meet the others, but not make it in time. At some point, this changed. Instead of making it back to where they were going to meet, he would die from his wounds along the way. It seems to have now gone back to a scenario similar to the original plan, with him meeting the others but still mortally wounded. His final fate is unknown.
If you have checked out the MediaSharx pictures from the finale, I believe the scene with the final four is the final few minutes of the show. There is still a bit of confusion from the information I have if the dragon appears in the alley, or if the others hop through a dimensional gate to another location, which is where they encounter the dragon.
This fate for Gunn sounds similar to what happened with Rona in 'Chosen', where her life was hanging by a thread after the battle. It does bode well for a possible return of his character, if and when there is ever a movie or continuation of the story. « hide more

Angel: Power Play (5.21)
- The episode opens on a man being beaten in a dark room.
- Angel appears to rescue the man, but at the last moment vamps and drains him.
- We flashback nearly two days, as Angel wakes up. Nina is in bed with him.
- She wants them to go off together for some alone-time, but Angel has work to do.
- Hamilton introduces Angel to the Senator from the earlier spoilers, Angel also brushes off Wesley's inquiry about a recent case.
- While Angel shocks Gunn by agreeing to work with the Senator, Spike and Illyria decide to help Wesley.
- Wesley gets a cryptic message from one of the 'magic books' in his office.
- While Angel shmoozes with Izzy (the devil from the 100th episode), upping his 'evil street cred', Spike and Illyria are out trying to track down Wes's Boretz Demons.
- Illyria reveals she thinks that Angel appears to be about ready to betray them all. She even thinks he's about to kill one of them.
- Drogyn appears to Spike and Illyria and tells them that he's already killed one of them.
- Drogyn is injured and he tells them that Angel did it to him.
- Back at the office, Wesley goes to confront Angel, but is brushed off again.
- Everyone but Angel gets together at Spike's apartment, and Drogyn explains that Angel sent a demon to torture him.
- Drogyn reveals that Angel is worried. That someone is going to uncover that Angel was behind the Fred/Illyria plot the entire time.
- The others return to Wolfram and Hart to confront Angel, who tells them not to sweat the 'small stuff' and brushes them all off.
- Gunn and Spike bring in a reluctant Lindsey to gather more information.
- Angel sends Nina and her sister away, as things are about to get rough.
- Hamilton finds Drogyn holed up in Spike's apartment, and tries to take him by force.
- Lindsey explains the message that Wesley received, the symbol he saw earlier is related to the 'Circle Of The Black Thorn'.
- The Circle is a secret society, who are in charge of insuring that humanity continues to do evil things.
- Lindsey's plan all along was to become a member, but now Angel may have succeeded.
- We are now back at the teaser, where Angel kills Drogyn. Angel is then branded with the mark of The Circle, and accepted as a member.
- When he returns to Wolfram and Hart, it turns out it's intervention time, with weapons.
- As Angel battles the other members of the gang, he pulls out a crystal and shatters it.
- He explains that this is giving the illusion that the fight is still going on to others around them, he has six minutes to explain the plan.
- Angel explains that he wanted Drogyn to think he was behind the plot to kill Fred and bring back Illyria, this was to earn the trust of The Circle.
- Angel is prepared to take the final steps to defeat them, but it may be their last battle
- The others agree to help, as Hamilton observes the fight from the lobby. But as it fades to black, he gets a puzzled look on his face.
If there was one episode we didn't have a lot of information on, it was this one. This, as I expected last night, fills in a lot of the blanks. Though to be honest, this sounds more like the plot to an episode of 'Alias'. The biggest question may be the change in the relationship between Nina and Angel, but after discovering Buffy's new 'Boy Toy' in the previous episode, probably was enough to change his mind about dating. Though it does, in a way, seem a tad out of place. Unless it's part of fooling the others into the fact that he's turned back into 'Angelus'.
In any event, all of this is feeding into the big finale. Who knows, there may be a surprise or two still in store for us. « hide more

The Girl In Question (5.20)
- As spoiled earlier, Angel needs to go to Rome to retrieve the head of a demon boss.
- Spike doesn't want to go, and Angel tries to talk him into it.
- Both are told that Buffy could be in danger, as 'The Immortal' has been seen hanging around her place.
- Spike decides that he has to go to Rome.
- We learn, through flashbacks, the previous history the pair has with 'The Immortal'.
- Both Angel and Spike decide to work together to help Buffy.
- Meanwhile, Fred's parents arrive for a surprise visit. Illyria is intrigued.
- In Rome, Andrew informs Angel and Spike that Buffy is now dating 'The Immortal'
- We discover, as spoiled earlier, that this isn't the first time that 'The Immortal' has seduced the boy's girls (Darla and Dru).
- They get the demon's body (it's head) and go back to see Buffy.
- This then turns into the dance bar scenes, where they just miss her in the crowd.
- A battle ensues, as the head is stolen from them.
- They chase after the head thief on a Vespa, but lose him.
- This is when Spike suggests they check in with the branch office of Wolfram and Hart.
- There, they meet Ilona, the CEO of this branch. She offers to help them get the head back.
- Illyria meets and greets the Burkle's, pretending to be Fred.
- We then have the scene where Angel and Spike try to recover the head, and end up with a bomb instead.
- Before returning to Los Angeles headless, they try to meet up with Buffy again. Andrew suggests that it's time they move on, as Buffy already has.
- Wesley gets very angry with Illyria, because she won't stop acting like Fred.
- Back in Los Angeles, Angel discovers that 'The Immortal' has had the head delivered, and sends his regards.
- Angel and Spike commiserate that it may be best to let Buffy go, but neither seems ready to accept this. Pretty much follows the spoilers that we had previously, does fill in a few gaps here and there. While it certainly would have been nice to have had Buffy appear in this episode, it's actually likely to be a more amusing episode without here. Both Angel and Spike would have had a hard time hearing the news from her, rather than getting it from Andrew and Ilona. Also note that it leaves the entire Buffy/Angel/Spike triangle completely unresolved, which is was what David Fury told us to expect. It would have been much harder to pull off, if Buffy was in the actual episode.
All in all, looks to be a nice light episode, before we hit the finale. Which, as we already know, is going to be anything but light. « hide more

ATS: Episode 22 Spoilers
What I'm about to pass along, is more than likely the plotline of the final episode of 'Angel'. I'm sure that like myself, you are not going to believe that it's true at first. So it would probably be a good idea to pass along a little background information.
This info comes from a source that has proven to be extremely valuable this past season. Everything that they have told me has come to pass, they have yet to be wrong. Which means I normally pass along all their information without worrying about getting a secondary confirmation. However, there was one exception to that rule this season.
Sometimes, spoilers are so volatile, that I will not post them until I can get independent confirmation. If I don't get that confirm, I will not post them. That happened one time this season. I learned in November, weeks before it was mentioned anywhere else, that Fred was going to die and become Illyria. My source was not 100% that it was written in stone, and try as I might, I couldn't get any confirmation at all until Pandora posted her summary. Because of the nature of this spoiler, I didn't want to post a word about it, until I was certain.
Keep the above in mind, when I tell you that this spoilage has required not only a second confirmation, but a third, fourth, and even fifth confirmation before I would post it. It's that volatile.
Before I go into the spoilers, I do have to offer this one caveat. All of this information is prior to actual filming, and there had been significant changes made already. While I'm extremely confident in the information, and as mentioned earlier I've received multiple confirms about the events of the episode, this may or may not be the finished product. Because of this, for now I'm only going to list the highlights and major events. There are still details that I'm not clear on, and questions that I have yet to have answered.
But there are also clues in the most recent episode to at least two of these spoilers, including a scene that was recently added, which lends credence to this information.
Final Warning: If you have ever considered going unspoiled, now would be a good time to do it. Because unless Joss has managed to pull off the spoiler-foiler of the century, this is how it ends...

Angel: Not Fade Away (5.22)
Angel is playing the bad boy in order to figure out who he has to go through to get to the Senior Partners. It's unclear if he tells the others prior to this episode, or if the rest of 'Angel Investigations' is at a loss as to what is happening to him.
He does explain early in this episode, and tells everyone to go prepare themselves for the final battle. This then ties in with the one casting side, which has Angel seeing Connor, Spike in a bar, and Gunn seeing Anne. When they gather, they have to split up into different groups because there are multiple targets that need to be taken out (I have a feeling that they will be taking out most of the factions we see in 'Power Play'). Once this is done, they will meet up again and proceed to the final battle either to get to, or with, the Senior Partners.
Lindsey, Eve, and Connor all take part in these missions, fighting on the side of Angel. However, Angel has been forewarned that there is a traitor in their midst. Things get a bit unclear here, as to who is fighting what, but this is the outcome of these missions.
Wesley dies during his mission, and while he's dying Illyria appears to change once more into Fred and cries over him.
Gunn will die after he succeeds in completing his mission, while on his way back to the others.
Lorne is battling with Lindsey, and after they succeed in their mission, Lorne shoots Lindsey and kills him. Eve is heartbroken, and I believe that Lorne simply leaves everyone at this time. His work is done, and he told everyone that before they went out to fight.
Angel is losing in his fight with Hamilton, when Connor arrives and together they defeat him (or run him off). Connor then goes back to his family.
Why do these missions go so poorly? Probably because Harmony is in bed with Hamilton (literally). Hamilton turned her against the rest of the gang, and she revealed what they were planning to do.
The final scene? Somewhere, more than likely another dimension perhaps, Angel and Spike and Illyria face off against a dragon. It's unclear if this is the guardian to the Senior Partners or the physical manifestation of the Senior Partners. That's it. To answer the two most obvious questions... There is no reference to the Shanshu Prophecy, and it does appear to end on a cliffhanger.
To recap the above. Wesley, Lindsey, and Gunn all die. I think that Lorne just leaves. I do not know the fates of Eve, Harmony, or Hamilton. Angel,Spike and Illyria are all still standing at the end.
Lorne leaving could tie in with his general mood at the start of 'Underneath'. From the few details I have, it does appear that he has tired of 'fighting the good fight' in this episode. Also, Harmony working for Hamilton also makes sense based on the latest episode. It would not only explain how he got in the building, but also her unselfish attempt to save Eve from Hamilton (and why he didn't just kill her). It makes her look good.
I really don't want to comment more on this right now, because if you are like myself, it will take a day or so to digest this information. I know it's shocking and doesn't make as much sense as one would suspect. Then again, 'Chosen' didn't make a ton of sense to me at the time either.
Speaking of 'Chosen', there's one last thing. Somewhere in the final three episodes, there will be a reference to 'cookie dough'. I don't know when, I don't have any details. But again, I've got multiple confirms that it's there. « hide more

ATS: Wildfeeds?
The big question on everyone's minds? Where is the Wildfeed or Herc's Review for tonight's episode of 'Angel'.
Unfortunately, for one reason or another, it did not feed as it normally would. Which is why there is no advance recap of the episode. This has happened occasionally in the past, but there is the chance that if the feed is being sent digitally (as more and more are these days), we may not have the Wildfeeds for any of the final episodes.
Hopefully, the Wildfeed will return next week.

Angel: Time Bomb (5.19)
- As spoiled earlier, Illyria does rescue Gunn from the torture dimension.
- Wesley and Gunn reconcile, with them discussing how hard it is to have Illyria around.
- Illyria and Spike are sparring in a training room, when she is has a sudden attack/cramp.
- Later, Angel explains that he doesn't trust her. Hamilton and the Senior Partners also want her taken out of action.
- Illyria confronts Wes, feeling that he has betrayed her by trying to bring back Fred in the prior episode (when he broke the Orlon Window).
- Meanwhile, the story with Amanda (the young mother who is going to give her child to the Fell Brethren), kicks in.
- Illyria begins to have more frequent attacks, these begin to propel her through time.
- In the future, she sees Angel encouraging Wesley to shoot her with some device. She then goes back in time to when she was fighting with Spike.
- She thinks Wes and the others are behind these attacks.
- At Hamilton's urging, Wes investigates and discovers that Illyria's energy can't be contained in Fred's shell.
- Angel and the others go to discuss this with Illyria in the training room.
- When they arrive, she attacks. In short order she dusts Spike, kills Wes and Lorne, then cuts off Angel's head.
- She then has another attack, and finds herself talking to Angel in the past. She has another, and this time Angel travels with her.
- They pop in and out of time, until they finally arrive in the training room after Illyria has killed everyone. Angel doesn't understand what's happening.
- Illyria explains that they are caught in a time paradox, and Angel should be very familiar with paradoxes (referring to their current status at Wolfram and Hart).
- She then self-destructs, destroying everything and everyone.
- Angel finds himself in the past, on the way to confront Illyria. This time, he's able to save Spike and the others.
- He explains what's about to happen, to which Wes adds that he can save her.
- In order to do so, she will lose most of her energy. She resists at first, but eventually allows Wesley to stop the process.
- Even though drained of most of her power, Illyria is still herself. Wesley believes he needs to continue helping her find her way in this world.
- Back in his office, Angel tells Gunn that the contract with the demons is binding. Amanda must give her child to the Fell Brethren.
- Gunn protests, but Angel reminds him who their clients are, and that they are there to serve them. This fits in with little information I had received earlier, although instead of dimension-hopping, it was time-travel. Also, while this doesn't indicate that Illyria will assume more of Fred's personality, that does appear to be partially what she is able to do in the following episode (when she fools Fred's parents). It is also setting up the 'evil Angel' that we will see more of in 'Power Play (5.21)'. I can also add that some additional information I've received, does pretty much confirm that this is all an act, a ploy to fool the Senior Partners that he has finally 'seen the dark'. « hide more

Two bits of information on Episode 22, the final episode of 'Angel' have arrived today. The title of the episode will be 'Not Fade Away'. Read on to see the one scene we have info on, a montage that should take place in the first 30 minutes.
Minor Update: Forgot to mention that I had also gotten info on the title for Episode 21. It should be 'Power Play'.

Angel: Not Fade Away (5.22)
Angel walks into a room, likely in a college setting. He reaches a table and looks down at the person sitting there. Connor, who is in the middle of studying, looks up at him.
In a bar, we discover Spike in conversation with the bartender. The bartender warns him of the rough nature of the crowd in the bar. Which is fine for Spike, he just needs to get a few shots down before raising a ruckus. The bartender mentions that it will be Spike's funeral. Spike comments that he never had a proper one.
Last bit is Anne (who runs the shelter), packing up a moving van. Gunn walks up to her. And that, may be the very last bit of casting spoilage that we get for 'Angel'. Kind of sad in a way. Strangely enough, this almost feels like something that would come much later in the episode, especially if it is a two-parter.

Sorry for the lack of news/spoilers, it has been a very dry period for the show. I'm trying to get as much information as I can, but there really isn't much available about the final two episodes.
That being said, I do have a small tidbit for 'The Girl In Question'. According to a source, it should feature a flashback with Dru and Darla, in which we find out that Buffy isn't the only one to fall for The Immortal's charms.

Angel: Episode 21
Illyria is concerned because someone (he) has stopped talking to her. This is because she has become so adept at acting like Fred, she's fooling practically everyone. She's talking to Spike about it, and he points out that perhaps that's the scariest thing about her. The fact that she still looks, and can even act, like Fred.
Meanwhile, Hamilton introduces Angel and Gunn to a U.S. Senator, Helen Brucker. She's accompanied by her assistant, Ernesto, who Angel immediately recognizes to be a vampire. It also turns out that Brucker has had a long-term with Wolfram and Hart, having personally known Holland Manners.
Brucker has a simple request. She's up against a tough candidate in the next election, a war veteran, family man, dog-loving, kids and education-style candidate. Which just won't due, so she needs Dr. Sparrow to do a little mental gymnastics and make her opponent think he's a pedophile.
Gunn starts to explain that they don't do this kind of thing anymore, when Angel cuts him off. He's more than happy to help the Senator. Gunn is stunned by this turn of events, even more so when Angel asks him to leave the office, so he can discuss this one-on-one with the Senator.
Wesley is in his office, researching information on a specific kind of demon. While he's reading this info, the book's text fades out.
Later, Angel is at a demon conference/party. Many familiar faces are there, Sebassis, Izzy, the Vinji leader and one of the Fell Brethren. Izzy is bragging about how they delivered for Angel. Even down to the coming of Illyria. (note: in this bit, Izzy refers to a lamb for the slaughter, then asks who it was. Angel replies that it was Drogyn. I don't think Izzy was referring to the 'lamb', but who was behind the plan to release Illyria.)
He starts to introduce Angel to those in the room. Sebassis is especially pleased about the return of 'Angelus', though Angel is quick to correct him that he's still going by Angel. He refers to Angel's new alliance with the group, and at this point Senator Brucker steps up to them. Angel is surprised that she's so well connected. Izzy then directs Angel's attention to another guest, Cyvus Vail.
Vail explains that he's hear Angel has been looking for him, Angel corrects him. He was only pretending to be looking for him. Izzy's pleased, and gets them to shake hands. Not much to go on, but the main gist seems to be giving the impression that Angel has turned. It's my take that this is a plan by Angel to find out who's pulling the strings. In fact, isn't it nice that Angel managed to get all his enemies from this season into one room.
Sadly, no word on any other 'familiar' faces showing up in this episode. Then again, it would not surprise me if the Wolfram and Hart story arc was wrapped up in this episode. If 5.22 is going to be the 'final episode', they may want to finish this season's arc an episode earlier than usual. (just as they did last season, or as was done in Buffy: Season Four).

ATS: Guest Star Info
It appears that in an article that will appear in this week's TV Guide, Joss talks about several returning cast members for the finale. I haven't seen the article myself, but it has been posted at TotallyDavidBoreanazUK.com. The article mentions that we should hopefully be seeing Sarah (Buffy), Michelle (Dawn), Julie (Darla) and Juliet (Dru).

ATS: Tidbit For 17
Very interesting news about 'Underneath', Episode 17. Although the episode is already shot and presumed to be in the can (they've already shot 18), it appears that the first scene may have been reworked or completely replaced. Casting information came out today, which while not revealing anything too spoilery, could indicate that changes are being made. Then again, it could merely be a reshoot of an scene that was already present in the script, but for one reason or another, needs to be done again.

New/Changed Scene
Brief bit, which takes place in a demon bar. Lorne sits listening to the bartender, Carlos, sing. Carlos wants a reading about his upcoming proposal. Off Lorne's solemn look, Carlos is worried. But Lorne explains that they'll have a big June wedding.
Carlos is very happy, and pushes Lorne for more info, about a possible child in the future. A very tired Lorne, launches into a monologue about how tired he is of pretending that everything is going to be okay. He might have be part of the 'in' crowd in Hollywood, but he's gotten to the point that he's telling people what they want to hear, rather than the truth.
He continues on this train of thought, about how 'Happy Hour' is anything but that. All he knows is that he's been drinking since he learned the girl he loved would die, hoping that somehow it will help him get through this. But all he can do is go back to Wolfram and Hart, and try to act like he can help.
Lorne leaves the bar, and we cut to Angel, Spike, and Eve returning to Wolfram and Hart after escaping from Hamilton at the apartment. No big surprises, and I presume the girl in question is Fred.
